They meet, they fall in love, they buy a house...this is the story of one couple turning a little 1924 bungalow on Queen Anne into their home.
We hope that you enjoy the journey right along with us

puppy love!
a house just isn't a home unless you have a dog - something we had heard quite often and once we brought our little bundle of joy home from Idaho we certainly believed it!

a new reason to love our deck...
We're getting married! We got engaged on our deck on February 8th - a special day for so many reasons. Feb 8, 2008 was the day that brian broke his neck on the mexican beach - Feb 8, 2009 was the day that he asked me to marry him. What a difference a year makes!

The engagement story:
We woke up in the morning and dressed for a walk around the neighborhood. Up to Macrina Bakery for some coffee and breakfast. After breakfast we wandered through Queen Anne looking at houses, enjoying the view and talking about how thankful we are for so much in our lives: each other, wonderful family, wonderful friends, a wonderful home and of course, our health! After about an hour of hitting all of the major look-out spots on the top of the hill, we made it back to another coffee shop, Muse, right near our house. Coffee in hand, we came back home and sat on the deck just as the sun was beginning to emerge from the clouds that had lingered all day. With the sun peaking through, Brian knelt down beside me and pulled out the most beautiful and shinny diamond ring and asked me to marry him (don't ask me to remember what he said exactly, b/c I really don't remember - frankly, I was so shocked that I didn't even say yes right away). After tears and pinching myself several times, I realized that IT really was happening - the man that I love was asking me to marry him. In the end I did say yes (um, why wouldn't I?).
We enjoyed some time together with some champagne that he secretly stashed in the fridge before we left that morning. We even had some shots of the tequila that was specially requested by Brian to lug back in my suitcase from Mexico. And after a nice buzz, we began calling family and friends to share the great news. The night ended with a mexican fiesta style celebration at Brian's mom's house where we celebrated the past, present and future of our relationship.

Sonoma & Napa
we took a short weekend break from the clouds and rain of Seattle and headed to california wine country! it was great to see the sun, and to see the vinyards in a whole new way. beautiful mustard flowers bloom in the vinyards in the winter and make for a beautiful sight. we did Sonoma on Saturday and then headed to Napa on Sunday before we came home. we enjoyed taking pictures of the scenery, tasting some great wines, and just relaxing.

plumbing issues
this past weekend we discovered that our bathroom sink wasn't draining properly - the culprit? an 84 year old plumbing pipe. the solution? brian the plumber to the rescue. even though joe the plumber lives right down the street, we (brian) decided that this problem could be fixed by us (brian). well, the weekend resulted in a fixed bathroom sink and even a new toilet (that was falling apart too). my man is so handy! but, we also almost tore down a wall getting to those dang pipes - enjoy the pics because i get to see it every day :)
